Anyway, on Memorial Day, the entire Miss Greater Watertown family was in the Memorial Day Parade in Watertown. This year the parade ran from the center of Watertown, "Marshalls Plaza" to the center of Oakville. It was so much fun! Of course it was hot, but we just looked at is as a time to get a tan. =] Becky and I rode in a red Mustang (my favorite), Arielle rode in an old corvette, and all our Diamonds and our two "Littles" rode in an old fashioned truck... it was adorable! We all had so much fun. We never stopped smiling or waving. It was so cool to see so many faces of people that we knew - I even saw my boss at Carvel! As the parade ended, we jumped out of the cars and gathered around the large flag that is in the center of Oakville. We stayed there for about an hour and watched and listened to the ceremony that took place - Arielle even got to sing God Bless America. After that was finished, we went up to the Oakville library to take group pictures. The whole day was exciting and fun, and it just showed me again why I love all my sisters (queens).

Timing Our Talents
As the state pageants comes nearer, the whole Watertown pageant family is begin to feel the heat. We are all making last minute purchases and going to many important state meetings and rehearsals. On May 10th, Becky, Arielle, and I made our way down with our Business Manager, Kim, and our Executive Director, Avril, to Southington for "Timing Day." This day was the day where we performed our talents in front of Luis and Lisa and Berk (people on the Miss CT board) and they would time us to make sure our time didn't exceed two minutes. We had quite early appointments, but we made it there... only 10 minutes late! =] I was first, I handed in all of my paperwork and ads and then went to sing. Being as early as it wasn't it probably wasn't my best performance but I got an okay on the time! Becky and Arielle went and then we were finished. We all got in the car and began to drive home. Keep in mind though, we are pageant queens. Our lives are full of pictures, and that is EXACTLY what we stopped to do. We stopped at a beautiful park in Southington (after asking for directions) and took numerous pictures on the water. It was beautiful. After our pictures, we all returned home and began to got ready for the Saturday in two weeks - Production Day!

Official Pageant Photos
On May 3rd, which was also one of the days of my high school production of Man of La Mancha, I woke up early and met up with my Executive Director, Avril. We got in her new car "Petunia" and traveled without a working GPS to Catherine Fiehn's studio in Milford, CT. That was the day of my appointment to have the official photos taken for the Miss CT Outstanding Teen Pageant. Catherine every year, graciously donates her time and effort to our Miss CT program and takes all the photos of the contestants that will be used for publicity as well as in the pageant program books. When I got to Catherine's studio, we got right to work. I changed into my first outfit and she started snapping pictures. Next up were two more outfits, and lastly photos of me with my crown and sash. Although pictures are sometimes not my favorite, she was able to make them all turn out beautifully. Avril and I headed home and had a fun ending of our time together by going and doing .. what else?? ... trying on dresses. =]
Appearances - So Far
As our year has progressed on, I have made numerous appearances. Since Arielle was in school in NYC and Isha and Julia are young, most appearances were made by Becky & I representing Watertown. It gave us a chance to not only get to know each other, but to become amazing friends - the best. Some of the appearances that we have made with our business manager, Kim, and Executive Director, Avril include multiple pageants throughout CT, and most recently golf tournament for the Lion's Club, and many others. Some of our upcoming events are a MADD Walk, Riverfest, and Reading to local children in Watertown.
On my own, I have made two trips since January, to Boston, Mass. to Boston Children's Hospital & the Jimmy Fund Clinic where I often read to children as part of work on my platform which is Pediatric Brain Tumor Awareness. On my trips, I have read to young girls and boys who are currently suffering from or surviving from a brain tumor. It is heart-wrenching, yet gratifying all at once.
I was also able to sing the National Anthem and model in the Watertown Woman's Auxiliary Fashion Show at the Grand Oak Villa for the third consecutive year. I thoroughly enjoyed every second that I was there, because the kindness and generosity shown by each woman that is in charge in unremarkable, and just can't help but cause a smile to emerge. I am looking forward to hopefully being part of it again next year.
Watertown Fashion Show
On April 23rd, the Miss Greater Watertown family took part in yet another yearly tradition: the Watertown Fashion Show. Our fashion shows raises money for our program since it is a scholarship program. Here, Me, Becky, Arielle, Julia, Isha, previous title holders, and many other little & miss contestants from this year, such as Julia Spagnoletti (Little Miss 1st runner up), and Nicole Morely (Miss Watertown talent winner) turned out to make our show a success. We had all the clothing fashions from local businesses such as Ragtime Boutique and KVals, and customs jewelry by PJ Creations. Each business brought a touch of elegance to our night. Miss Watertown, Arielle also had the chance to perform while the dinner portion of the night was going on. The night ended up being fantastic and it was a great time for all us girls to get together once again.

Meet with the Easter Bunny
On March 22nd. All of the Watertown pageant family had the chance to Meet the Easter Bunny. It is one of those appearances that is done yearly. We got to meet at Watertown High School, hand out goody bags, and take pictures with all the young children gathered that day to meet the Easter Bunny. It was a wonderful bonding time for all of us girls, since it was one of the first times we all were together. At the end of the meeting with the Easter Bunny, we got to walk in the Easter Parade around the track (following our leader: Mr. Easter Bunny). After that was over we all took a trip to Ragtime Boutique in Watertown and took pictures that were later going to be used for publicity for our Watertown Fashion Show.

Miss & Little Miss Greater Watertown 2008
This year I got to play a large role in our Miss Greater Watertown Pageant and our Little Miss Watertown Pageant. Although not much ever changes in our Miss Pageant, there was a change this year in the little miss. We crowned two girls. A "little miss" and a "Petite miss". Over the couple of months before the pageant which was held in March, I got to meet a bunch of little girls and great women who were competing for the titles. I got to go to all the practices and be there right before the competition itself. It was sad because I had to say goodbye to the current Miss Watertown - Marissa Ranalli, who was one of my good friends, and our little miss - Lauren Pavo, but it was exciting because we got new big and little sisters in our program. Our new Little Miss for 2008 is Isha Patel, and our new Petite Miss is Julia Bugnacki. Our night culminated with the crowning our (my neighbor) Arielle Polites. Our 2008 pageant family is so much fun, and I know that this year is going to be unforgettable.
Also, as of today (May 24, 2008) we have ANOTHER member to our family; Our Watertown's Diamond - Ava Bugnacki.
